COVID-19 Policy
We are making substantial efforts to create an event that is as safe as possible, for as many people as possible.
While many COVID-19 policies have relaxed in our daily lives, portions of Paper Plains Zine Fest will be crowded indoor events where there is increased risk of viral transmission. This is especially true at the Sunday Vendor Fair where we will have the most visitors and where our exhibitors are present and at risk for an extended period of time.
We believe that masks are an expression of community care. Within our zinemaking community, we have members who live with chronic health conditions, who parent small children, who are our elders, or who for any number of reasons, are at higher risk if they are contract COVID-19. By wearing masks, we demonstrate our care, concern, and respect for those in our community who live with higher risks in their lives. Mask wearing is a proven public health strategy to stop the spread of COVID-19.
For these reasons, we ENCOURAGE MASK usage during all INDOOR portions of Paper Plains Zine Fest and particularly during the Vendor Fair on Sunday.
While we are not requiring masks, we intend to keep our indoor gathering spaces well-ventilated by opening windows and doors and increasing air circulation when possible. We have access to portable air filtration units that we can use in areas where our control of ventilation is more limited.
We thank all our attendees and vendors for their efforts to help make Paper Plains Zine Fest a safe and welcoming space for all.
PPZF organizers reserve the right to ask any attendees or exhibitors violating our COVID-19 policy to make changes to their behavior or to leave the event.
